Technology for Optimal Results

If your dentist, dental surgeon, or periodontist does not offer up-to-date computerized, digital, and laser technology, it may be time to find a new care provider. The doctors at Northern Colorado Periodontics take pride in providing patients with the latest, most accurate, and most comfortable treatment options. We are pleased to offer optimal diagnostic and treatment solutions for our patients. All of our specialists pursue continuing education, and enjoy teaching the latest techniques to other professionals. Technology driven procedures and equipment at our practice include diagnostic and surgical tools as well as the newest laser treatments.

Laser technology allows us to provide much more comfortable treatment, removing only precise amounts of tissue preserving more of your natural tooth structure.

State-of-the-Art Laser Treatments

Our practice uses LANAP® (Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure) for periodontal care, a minimally invasive way to clear away diseased pockets while preserving healthy gum tissue. The ultrasonic, vibrating PerioLase® laser effectively removes hard calculus deposits without any of the discomfort associated with traditional scaling and root planing procedures. LANAP® has also been shown to promote regeneration of connective tissue and to prevent additional infection. The laser provides patients with pain-free treatment, with no post-procedure downtime required. This is a significant advancement in treatment options for gum disease.

The latest laser techniques and technologies are also used throughout our practice during frenectomy and gum reshaping procedures. Laser technology allows us to provide much more comfortable treatment, removing only precise amounts of tissue preserving more of your natural tooth structure.

Precise Restorative Procedures

Technology has also made great strides to improve the planning and execution of dental implants treatment. Our practice uses the ultra-precise NobelGuide, a system that provides for optimal angulation, direction, and placement depth during your dental implants surgery. Used together with our in-office computerized tomography (CT) scanner, NobelGuide generates custom surgical templates. These provide our skilled implantologists with a visual guide to follow as they place your implants, increasing treatment success rates. For patients, the end result is ideal placement designed to provide a permanent support system for dentures or other teeth restorations.

VELscope® technology uses natural tissue fluorescence to discover abnormalities and provide early diagnosis for oral cancer.

Accurate Diagnoses

For thorough oral tissue exams, our office uses the VELscope® Vx Enhanced Oral Assessment System. This wireless, handheld scope allows the doctors to identify oral abnormalities that may not be visible to the eye. In a painless process, we can screen for any evidence of oral cancer or pre-malignant dysplasia, targeting tissue for biopsy. This reliable technology plays an important role in helping patients halt a growing problem in the earliest stages.
