Front Office/Treatment Coordinators:
Jaylea (Fort Collins Office): I am proud to say I was born and raised in Fort Collins. I moved to Boulder eventually where I received my Bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Colorado. I loved living in Boulder and experiencing the culture there, but moved back to Fort Collins, because it is where my heart lies. Luckily, I landed here, to join the amazing team Dr. Shumaker has. I cherish getting to meet all the patients and hearing their stories. Like most Colorado natives, I have a major love for the outdoors. I enjoy anything and all things that involve being outside like searching for the perfect camping spot as soon as weather gets nice or snowshoeing around frozen lakes in Rocky Mountain National Park. I recently started hiking fourtneers, a passion my dad and sister found too, so we spend several summer weekends waking up at 4 am to travel to the base of one of the 53 peaks here in Colorado. I have found that there is no greater reward or view quite like being at the top of 14,000 feet. My other great passion is food, not making it, just eating it. Tasting different foods and restaurants is an immense hobby of mine, so if you know of any great places don’t be hesitant to pass it along.
Stephanie (Greeley Office): A Colorado native, I have two boys, (ages 10 &13). We have a Havtese dog named Jingles, who will be 3 on Christmas, hence his name. My hobbies are spending time with my boys and participating in their activities, photography, scrapbooking, and golf. I have 18 years experience in the dental field, and 15 of these years are in periodontics. I’m excited to be working with Dr. Shumaker in Greeley!
Karla (Greeley Office): I am a southern born and raised transplant of 20 years. I worked in the Dental field for 10 years before starting my family and am thrilled to be back, especially as a NoCoPerio team member! My “P” passions are Pink, Pearls, Pets & People…not necessarily in that order. My favorite people would start with my husband of 30 years and my three children; Jase, Morgan and Mackenzie. My happy spot is enjoying the great outdoors with my “P” passions! Altitude for Attitude is a good thing…
Kelly: Kelly is our Practice Manager. She is Irish and born on St. Patrick’s Day. Enjoys working out and spending time with her family. She works hard to help manage both the Fort Collins and Greeley offices.
Sandra (Both Offices): I was born and raised in Venezuela and then moved to Kimball Nebraska when I was 14 years old and then to Greeley Colorado when I was 17 years old. I attended AIMS but felt like having some fun so I made the move to Breckenridge where I was a ski instructor for two years. Then I moved back to Greeley, and since dentistry always interested me, I decided to go to Dental Assistant School. My family and friends are my everything and I keep them close to my heart as much as possible.
Kay (Fort Collins Office): I am a proud Fort Collins native! I had a brief stint in Sturgis but Colorado is where my heart is. I am passionate about baking, and the ladies in the office are my willing food tasters. I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family; fishing, taking our boat on the lake, gardening…as long as it’s outside, that’s where I want to be. I have been assisting for 21 years, and I’ve been with Dr. Shumaker since 2012. I am a licensed cosmetologist but the dental field is where I am most comfortable. My patients make my career worthwhile.
Carrie (Greeley Office): I grew up in Brush, Colorado. I completed my bachelors degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Colorado School of Dentistry in 2001. I am married to my high school sweatheart, we have two beautiful girls, and a Laboradoodle. I enjoy camping, boating, exercise, reading and spending time with friends and family. I have lived in Greeley for 13 years and am excited to be a part of the team of Northern Colorado Periodontics in Greeley
Denise (Fort Collins): I am a Fort Collins Native, all but the 4 years I was getting my degree in dental hygiene at the University of Nebraska (Go Big Red). I have been a dental hygienist for 35 years, 30 of which have been in periodontics. I have several interests outside of dentistry- I love boating, water skiing, horseback riding, baking and reading. I have been married for 33 years and we have 3 amazing daughters! I am so thrilled to be a part of such an innovative, vibrant practice and can’t wait to help my patients achieve optimum dental hygiene.
Megan (Both Offices): Megan is a Colorado native, she graduated from University of Colorado School of Dentistry with her bachelors degree in Dental Hygiene in 2006. She has a passion for her patients and strives to find ways for each individual to better maintain their oral health. Away from work she loves spending time with her husband and two young children. She also loves anything creative specially when she can share it with others and she is always looking for a new project. She also has passion for serving and supporting moms in the community and volunteers a lot her time coordinating for MOPS, a local young mothers support group.
